There used to be a thrift store in Monterey, and there are several in Salinas, which is around 25 miles away. There's a link below for TSs there. Linda

Here's a link for a swap meet in Salinas. Call for info about what days they operate. If they're open several days or every day of the week, ask them what days are best for junk.

Check Craigslist for yard and estate sales in Monterey and around the area on the days you're there. Some are likely to start on Thursday and Friday. Linda

Thank you for your suggestions! I'm back but ended up with a late start so didn't do much extra sight seeing. But since my brother lives there I'm sure I'll go back.

First I hit a deer and smashed up dh's car while driving him to the airport. Then the day I was to join him the plane had trouble and they couldn't get me out there until the next day.

It was a wonderful trip anyway, but no junk! Yosemite was wonderful. Besides being late starting, my brother and his girlfriend really wanted to take us to a bunch of vineyards, so that's what we did (hic!).

It was much greener out there than usual I thought, for this time of year. Just beautiful!
