My little Teeger cat is dying

Poor Teeger has a congenital liver disease and his prognosis was 2 years. He is now 2 years and 4 months. A couple of weeks ago we thought he was cured he was so active and happy. But suddenly yesterday he got very symptomic and last nite seems to have slipped into a coma. I had to come to work to deal with a leaking roof. He was a wonderful loving and fun pet. I'm not sure what I'll find when I get home. His brother, Zorro, was upset yesterday evening. I'm sad too.

I sure feel for you. I had to put my cat of 18yrs to sleep about 4 months ago. I'm sooo sorry...What a pretty kitty...

He's a beautiful cat!! Will be so hard to lose him, he looks like a very loving cat. Will be hard on his buddy too!! I don't have any bunnies any more as it's just too hard to lose them. I'm glad he had you for 2 yrs & 4 mos. Longer than they thought he would make it. Jan

Thank you everyone for your sympathy and support.
I took him to the vet while my dh was at work because he didnt' die as quickly as I thought and he began to appear to be in pain. I've never done the burial by myself before. I didn't like the spot that dh had already dug a hole so did a new one in a flower bed near the little patio at the base of our back steps. He looked so alive curled up in the hole that I couldn't bear to throw dirt on him so I covered his face with flowers then his whole body with sunflower leaves. I think I'll put some shallow flower bulbs there once the ground settles. Or maybe a special primrose. For now a concrete sunflower.
I'm glad its over. But I'm sad too.

I understand how hard that was. I've always had to cover my pets' before I could bury them too. Flowers sound like a nice memorial for Teeger. I have planted something special where my kitties lie. I like to think of them resting in the shade or playing with the leaves of "their" plants.

Know that we love you and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about Teeger! Even though pets can be sick and in pain, it is still so hard to see them go. I know we always had to wrap pets in towels or put them in boxes before burying them but I like your flower idea better. I'm sure you will feel him snuggling up to you and swear you hear his meow from time to time. That is his way of saying I love you mom and I miss you too.

Sorry to hear your beautiful cat passed.I know its hard for anyone to lose a dear pet that's part of your family.Your burial sounds nice. Your in my thoughts.
