What a weekend!!

Hi all~

Well, did we have an adventure yesterday! We got a call from a campground friend about all of the damage that had been caused by Tropical storm Ida and lo and behold, when she sent the pictures, our poor little camper was totally destroyed! Between the tears and the laughs, I have to say that God was so good to us! My DH and I are such junkers and we had really "beach junked" our camper. We spent all day yesterday searching through the mud, sand, and yuck uncovering what we could. I was totally amazed at how much of our "junk" we found! Wonderfully enough, we found all of our favorites! My DH even has his kayak found a LONG way from the camper site. He was a very happy camper indeed! Just wanted to share our day with all of my GH family~ Here's what's left of our place on the bay! The huddled mass in front was our screened front porch! Won't be going back....after losing two campers, I think it's time to regroup.

Ahhh, Marlene, am sorry for your loss...this looks like it was a very beautiful spot...where is it? On Virginia Beach? I am glad you found your favorites. Good luck on the clean-up & hope you find some place else! Jeanne S.

Sorry you lost your camper, sure glad you weren't in it! Looks like front part is missing. Glad you found some of your treasures. Hope that was last storm of the season!! Did your house that was for sale end up getting bought. Maybe I missed outcome. Jan

What a mess, I'm so sorry your camper was demolished. Good that you found your favorites. I don't blame you for giving up, maybe a camper at home to take different places would be better. We have one about the size of yours and we camp about 10 months out of the year, we have the best time. I know you have some great memories of yours at the ocean. I'm glad you can keep your chin up about it.

That had to heart your heart seeing your sweet lil camper and porch like that. I am so sorry, Marlene, it looks like a fantastic getaway and I can tell you all put tons of work into your cute vacation spot. I am glad you found alot of your treasures. Hopefully you can find a better place to regroup. I pray you get quadtruple blessings from the insurance! But the biggest blessing of all is that you guys are OK. Good luck with everything and I am proud of you for having such a great attitude about it! What a trooper you are!!

I am sorry that IDA 'lived' long enough to cause you that kind of damage.
We were so thankful that it decreased from a hurricane by the time it came ashore from the Gulf. There were still a couple of bad days here.
Glad you found most of your belongings.
