"sight seeing" at the Mason Dixon Line

if you look closely, you will see a white cone in the field, this is where the actual PA/MD line is...this farm has a PA address and a Maryland back yard and farm...I've always wondered how they pay state taxes!

At the MASON DIXON Line marker
sadly the monuments with Maryland on one side and Pennsylvania on the other are deteriorating :-(

Another neighbor's overcast farm fields...probably about 20 small Mennonite farms in the area where I live...many less than there were years ago before developers bought up all the farmland to build housing developmentsOvercast view of neighbors fields

RE: JT sight seeing

Thanks for taking JT on a trip to such a historical spot, I'm sure she was proud to be an American & get to have her pic taken there!! Shame they don't have anyone who can repair the pillar but I suppose then it would get stolen. I remember how important it was reading about the Mason -Dixon line in school! Why don't you just ask the folks that live there if they have to pay taxes in 2 states? I don't think they would mind!(unless a million other people asked them but probably not as most people don't think about things much on vacation- just getting on to next spot or where they are going to eat. I'm 1 of those that want to take it all in & ask questions & don't care if I eat!! You wouldn't want me around those farms, I'd want to check them out & doubt they are listed as tourist attractions!!! DD on honeymoon in Europe went to several countries & turned around & went back to small Swiss town & spent couple of days talking to all the wonderful people there. Just like me!Oh,Oh Jan

Garden Junkers- Did you notice how sweet she covered up the fact that JT chewed up that concrete stake?

RE: JT sight seeing

It is fun to see JT's adventures again! Gosh, that girl has gotten around! And it was good to see that she faired well after the episode with the dog. he-he Thank goodness when she arrived here I no longer had my Min Pin Bitsy. Bitsy would have taken her and ran off like a shot under the bed and would have proceeded to chew the stuffing out of her. I always had a heck of a time taking toys away from her that weren't really her toys. And you had to put toys up about 6 feet or she'd jump like a kangaroo to get them. JT looks fine for having such a harrowing experience. TFS!
