I put 20 lights ( for large bottles, 36) in the bottles that I have, wrap the top (and the plug wire) with ribbon or raffia. Make a small bow. That way no holes have to be drilled. I add grapes and/or flowers in/on the top.
I am a coward about drilling glass!!!! Have the drill press, and have the diamond glass bits--just can't make myself try to drill the bottles....

I thought candles or flowers/greenery, like Lili and Nona, but the added lights inside would be stunning, no matter what you put on the outside.

nonacook, that sounds really pretty. Got any pics for us to see. That always helps if we want to copy a swell idea!!!! I also belong to the coward club when it comes to drilling glass even with the right equipment. Thanks for sharing the idea.

Just keep the glass WET or it will crack/shatter.
