Wow ... maybe house numbers on the plates ....

At a craft fair where I couldn't take pictures, a person was selling hangings made of a few stacked plates glued together. A larger plate, then a contrasting smaller plate or saucer glued to that. Some had a little beveled mirror in the saucer center. Others had forks, spoons, or various stuff glued on, to look kitcheny or victorian, or ....

I thought I'd try an indoor one and lean it on an easel. Maybe glue a round photo to the center of the saucer.

CRAFTY: I feel your pain. EVERYTIME I dare throw something out, I find a use for it later on this forum. That is really a neat idea. They could be interspersed w/the bottles for a really unique flowerbed border. Thanks for the site.

plant markers that is a great idea!!! Now does anyone know how they painted the plates? It says painted plates washable? I wondered what type of paint they used. Guess a perm. marker would work but what did they use to make the letters so perfect,,,, a stencil?

I'm going to turn my patio into a Mexican courtyard this spring. This might be really cool to hang on my fence if I can find some really bright plates and think of a good word.

nancyjeanmc..thanks for the paint link...as one idea spreads...I wanted to make plant markers using terra cotta pots (hung upside down like a bell) and was wondering what paint to use...this answers my question!

Hmmm...terra cotta. Small painted terra cotta pots would make cute garden markers, too! So many ideas...too little time.
(I also saw a cute thing with terra cotta pots on HGTV...made to look like cakes; the small ones like cup cakes. So cute.)
