No help from me, 2much, sorry! But when I break a terra cotta pot or the weather breaks it...I stomp on it for pcs for 'mulching!' So 'stomp' on this one & maybe someone else can help you out! If they only break in half, I use them as tipsy 'planters' directly w/plant growing out of the ground. Good luck with a solution! Jeanne S.

I'm not sure what the wheel is made of - I use it to cut metal when I'm welding. It cuts thru metal like butter - this pot is not cooperating !

You need a blade that cuts tile also you want to soak it in water for a while.

You got a Taurus 3? That would work!

I was going to suggest a diamond blade or bit or even try a glass cutting tool.

have you tried to soak it in water over night then hit the place with a hammer?

it normally works with terracotta

I have cut drainage holes in terra cotta and glazed pots with a masonry bit in a low speed drill. I usually change angles rather than drilling straight as it bites better. Have not broken one yet. Good luck.

I soaked mine for several days and used a diamond bit / masonry bit, to no avail.... I finially whacked it several hard times before I got the pot to crack. My pots must not be true terra cotta... They had a black hard center... ended up with a nice shaped door after a whack on the concrete floor..... We normally soak and drill with no problem.. I think these pots are a hybrid of some sort

I do know that depending on where you buy them that they can be water resistant and not soften up and then not cut well

I was given 6 14' old pots. I tried breaking with a hammer on 4 of them and they all broke around the back of pot also. I soaked 1 for about 3 days in the shape I was hoping would break out and then hit with a hammer and it still cracked around the whole bottom too.
