glue question

I purchased an adorable pot lady at the thrift store, she's only about 18 inches tall. She had moss glued on her and some silk flowers, she was rather tatered looking but that was OK> I took a pic of her and then started tearing her apart for a re-do. My grandson needs art projects for the fair and the terra cota pots were still in excellent shape, so he will assemble her back again and give her fresh moss. It appeared they may have used hot glue which popped off very easily. Would ya'll suggest using hot glue again or what might work better for terra cota. Wasn't sure if GEII or E6000 would be a better choice or is there something else that needs to be used. Thanks for any suggestions you might have to offer!
