Watering Can Now 'Retired'

My Dad got me a GS watering can about 20 yrs. ago when I wanted to swipe his! It's been used alot...and sodered a couple times...now it's pretty leaky...so I am retiring it!

Got these beads last Fall at TS for a buck at TS...sparkly blue glass! This idea I got from a GJer but I don't know who..(2nd pic) from the Inspiration Album. My "retired" watering can will go outside later and it will bring me continued memories of my Dad!...Here it is hanging on my porch lamp (for a pic)...with prairie grass. My DH just kind of rolled his eyes (as he looked at the beads) when I had him unscrew the spout for me. :-) Jeanne S.

LOVE your watering can Jeanne! I have one just like it...maybe I'll borrow your idea too! And it's great to have it in your garden to remind you of your Dad!

I liked this idea too! Glad to see someone replicated it. It looks great and is a wonderful reminder of your dad! If I come across an old watering can, I might try this idea too.

Miss goldenpond, you're a little ornery this here evenin', aren't you!!!!LOL!! Jeanne, I love your watering can with the pretty sparkly beads! Great reminder of your dad and I like your old lamp, too. Well, even if DH rolled his eyes, at least he helped you anyway! Did he really even have a choice??LOL!!

Looks great!! I have 2 cans out back, 1 I use all the time think I'd like to do this with the other. Trying to get all these ideas organized so I can get materials I need & get to them!!Did you put the "rustyness" on the can? What did you use? Jan

Jeanne, I would love to have an outdoor shower like that. Gull la. I'd probably get arrested for "cruelty to neighbors" though.LOLOL

I love it! I love old watering cans! When I very first posted, I posted this photo of my old watering can fountain I made... (I've since added plants and other decorations.) I love what you did with yours!!! I also love how you are so sharing of your ideas! YOU INSPIRE! Bear Hugs! Kirk

Love your "memory can"! Can't wait to see it in your "most special place" so that everytime you visit memories of Dad will flow over you.
