Back Pack Sprayers

I have 'inherited' about a dozen of these - the plastic containers only. All the metal and movable parts have been removed.
I thought of making planters out of them but the top and bottom openings are quite small in relation to the dimensions of the containers themselves. I would have to cut across the "waistline" of each; to make two planters.
Any other ideas?

Do you have a picture of one?
Are they opaque plastic? If they are the first thing that occurred to me is if you put even a small light in one (even a solar light if the light part will fit in the top hole and the solar cell stick out the top) it will light up the whole thing at night. Makes it glow like if you put a light behind a milk jug.
I bet there's lots of other things. How big are they?
