I know there is a concrete sealer that can be bought a most hardware stores....

I use polyurethane, shellac, varnish, clear acrylic spray, wax, even shoe polish it all works depending on the surface texture and what you do with the finished item. (imo)

Is the surface of the concrete items sound/solid or is it weathered, flaking, grainy,...?

Are the items outside? Exposed to weather? Have some protection?

I use concrete sealer from Home Depot, whether I paint things or not. But if I paint them, I often put poly on top.

They were outside for years. Have had them in garage for a couple of years, looks like they have "large pores". Should I put them on a heat vent to be sure they are dry all the way through? Guess I also seal the bottom if I am sure there is no moisture in there, right?
