and I snagged it! hubby gonna make me a bench for the front porch with it.... gonna turn footboard upside down [some damage in top] and make it that way so it matches the headboard, with the fancy edge down toward the bottom on it and the fancy part up top on headboard

Very nice. You could add a half round trim on top of the damaged area if you wanted to use it the other way. It will make a great bench.

darn it.... i knew i should have hid it till we cut into it....
daughter came in saw it and had a fit....so i guess i will use her bed[antique four poster] for a bench instead.... she broke the rail hole in the headboard so it cant be used as a bed anymore anyway.....

Wow! What an awesome score! That will make a beautiful bench. Can't believe what people throw away.

My dh made us a really nice bench from a set the resale shop across the alley threw away. First nice day I am off it is my job to get it painted.
