lol, I totally agree. We used to go to a place where they dumped all kinds of cut wood from the county, to pick thru it for firewood. Some of the things I had to leave behind almost made me cry. If only I had the equipment... it was all going to be burnt anyway. I will always remember the cut off palm tree stumps, they looked for all the world like an elephant's foot. I wanted one of them real bad for the base of my sundial.

Totally understand your dilemma. My DH and I have done the same thing with both large pieces of wood and boulders. Love the piece of weathered wood....very cool shape!
