Toad House

I made this over the weekend after seeing similar ones on another forum....it's made from 6" PVC pipe cut to about 8" tall with a plastic funnel found at the auto parts store. I glued on the stones I got from the $1 store with GE Silicone II in a tan color then hot glued reindeer moss between the stones (after the silicone dried). The top was covered with a coco liner like you'd use for a hanging wire basket. The opening is about 4" wide x 3" tall, perfect for a big fat toad.

I agree! How neat a house is that.It would look great in a fairy garden.

Too cute, Adina, and I loved Cait's Toad Speak.

I wonder if a Toad Mansion would deter the toads who summer on my carport: Pete, Delmar and George Clooney, from burrowing into the pots where I'm trying to root cuttings?

Oh my gosh! Love it! Love it! My frogs and toads need houses to protect them from the cats...and I want a fairey garden for my grandaughter, this would be a great house for them too.

Fantastic Toad house Adina. I have 2 questions. Do the Toads need a nearby water source or can the house be set anywhere in the garden ? Also, the funnel roof of the house has a hole in the top ? Is that for some rain water to get in ? and ( this is a 3rd question, is the floor of the house anything special like smooth river stone or just grass / moss ?
