Hi, I am looking for the lightest mix possible for boulders, while still suitable for outdoors.

RE: Fake boulders.

Are you talking hypertufa mix?

RE: Fake boulders.

There is a hypertufa forum here at GW. You might want to try posting over there, too.

Here is a link that might be useful: Hypertufa Forum

RE: Fake boulders.

LOL, just for an FYI, in order to "paint rocks", you use a Wet-on-wet type of painting!
You find the 3-4 colors you want in a rock and blot them here and there with a sponge dipped in each color paint!
How I learned this???? My neighbor is the director of the Sonoma Co Flower Show, and hire me on as a flunkie one year!
As he does with all new hires, he gave me some paint, a few sponges, and just said wet-on-wet! Then walked away!LOL
I figured it out and the fair had the most beautiful rocks EVER!!!!! LOL The next year I painted an ice house! I was a pro by then! ;) Nancy

RE: Fake boulders.

Sounds like fun Nancy. Do you have pics? and what is wet other than the paint?
