| This ashtray came out of my parents' attic and I've been hanging onto it for a while now. Decided to paint it and add some embellishments and now it's in my garden.

There's that pretty aqua blue that you like to use (me too). I like how that turned out, especially how you are using the birds here lately. I have an ashtray sort of like that on the deck for a few of our friends that still smoke. Frou |

| Marlene, your ashtray is great!!! I was so inspired, and I found one at an estate sale yesterday! ($5) Showed DH the picture that you posted....asked me "where are you going to find something like that?" I answered, "how about the trunk of my car!" Now, about finishing it, does rustoleum primer work well for you? Re the color, I don't know if I want to go patina or a color similar to yours. I'm gluing bunny figures to mine. |

| Patty~ I seem to remember priming it with Rustoleum primer, but I actually painted it last fall. But any primer should do. Then I spray painted it the color you see...it's not patina, it's a mismixed quart of outdoor paint from Lowe's, but I loved the color! |
