| But of course the battery died as you were drilling...is there any other way?! Sounds all too familiar to me! Hang in there....it will happen. |

| ohhh ... I was so mad ! I planned on doing this all myself without DH. The drill was so stuck in the tree , it broke off while we were trying to get it out. We put in a brand new drill bit -- a brand new charged battery -- started a brand new hole --- and it still wouldn't budge. We decided to use a drill with a cord -- more power.... we got one hole drilled , but it took muscle ! Darn Maple tree ! More news to come ... |

Oh sure, blame it on the tool and the tree. I use a lot of green beer bottles in my projects and I noticed that I have better results if I don't empty all the bottles the same day I do the project. :) |

This is a GREAT post-grin. I just bought new batteries for my Ryobi (tools &) drill because it would not hold a charge for long. I love the battery tools, but sometimes #S@&*. |

| I needed a laugh today! This thread is too funny. That sounds like one tough maple tree, but I bet the spikes holding the bottles will stay put once you get all the holes drilled. Looking forward to seeing the finished creation. |
