The Virginia Creeper on my old screen door trellis has taken over this year... It's even climbing the old rusty tools around the door. :o)

Love the idea, the door and the tools----
You always have wonderful things.

However-sorry- I hate that particular vine.
It IS a beautiful vine.
But it really runs crazy around here, and I have
to fight it constantly. Hope it's not that bad
where you are.

I've had the door trellis there for about 10 years and the vine just as long. Haven't had much problem with it as I cut it back each year.

Love that red screen door, Kirk! Yes, the chick wire is perfect for climbing on! (the vine, that is, not your lil' guy!) ;-)

We are having a bad year of Virginia Creeper ...birds spread the seed, too, I think I read somewhere...anyway, we have some pine trees that need cut down...it grew & wrapped around them & we didn't do anything about it...didn't know it could choke them out...but I will do some more research on this. A good friend said if we would just 'cut them' at ground when this happens, that then the trees would have lived. ;-( I think the vine looks great on your door...but just wanted you to know in case you see any in your pines. ;-) Jeanne S.
