| The Virginia Creeper on my old screen door trellis has taken over this year... It's even climbing the old rusty tools around the door. :o)

Love the idea, the door and the tools---- You always have wonderful things. However-sorry- I hate that particular vine. It IS a beautiful vine. But it really runs crazy around here, and I have to fight it constantly. Hope it's not that bad where you are. |

| I've had the door trellis there for about 10 years and the vine just as long. Haven't had much problem with it as I cut it back each year. |

| Love that red screen door, Kirk! Yes, the chick wire is perfect for climbing on! (the vine, that is, not your lil' guy!) ;-) We are having a bad year of Virginia Creeper ...birds spread the seed, too, I think I read somewhere...anyway, we have some pine trees that need cut down...it grew & wrapped around them & we didn't do anything about it...didn't know it could choke them out...but I will do some more research on this. A good friend said if we would just 'cut them' at ground when this happens, that then the trees would have lived. ;-( I think the vine looks great on your door...but just wanted you to know in case you see any in your pines. ;-) Jeanne S. |
