I found a resin fairy table top fountain at the thrift store and want to paint it. It is a grey green color all over but I would like to paint it to look realistic. Probably will not use it as a fountain. (I am continuing to gather things to make a few fairy gardens. I now have 2 houses, 3 fairies and this fountain.) Can I use acrylic paints and then coat with a clear acrylic spray? Will this stick to resin? Anyone try this with good results?

That's exactly what I use....acrylic paint and then I allow them to dry a couple of days before I spray it with clearcoat. I've had pretty good luck with it so far...certainly lasts as long as the original color did.

Thank you for the response. I am going to go with the acrylics.

My son and daughter-in -law gave me a used waterfall-castle for Mothers' Day. That is what I did. Acrylics then the clear coat. It is outside and doing great! Jlily
