'Leaf-y' Patio

Hello.

I am trying to find the pictures and how-to for a patio that someone on this forum created with leaves imprinted onto concrete. She used all kinds and it was gorgeous. A search for "pressed leaves", "concrete leaves" and "patio leaves" proved fruitless and a search just for "leaves" turned up hundreds of matches.

Anyone?

Thanks ever so,

Rain

Rain,
It may have been posted in the Hypertufa forum?

I remember and even saved those to "My CLippings".
The thread, if I am correct was in Garden Accoutrements.
The pictures are no longer there. posted by: DAVISSUE_zone9 on 03.23.2005

If that is any help.

Mary
I do have the photos saved to my computers. As with these
types of forums, things dissapear and we miss out on lots
of great ideas.
Let me know if you want me to send them to your
email.

Thank you, Mary.

I will look in the other two forums first. If I can't find the photos, I may take you up on your kind offer to send me yours.

Just curious -- did you attempt to create a leaf-y patio of your own?

Hi, Mary.

You were right, it was in the accoutrements forum and it was a path, not a patio. Funny how memory is often flawed. All the pics are long gone from the thread. Pretty please, could you send me yours?

Begging Politely,

Rain

I missed this one! Beautiful! I want a walkway like this. Thanks for bringing up the topic and thanks for posting the picture. Colleen

Wow, thank you so much, Mary! And Susie, too.

Per her account, the artist wished she would have also created smaller leaves -- such that she could fill in the gaps, I suppose. What a totally gorgeous project, yes?

Basking in the glow of recovered treasure and with great gratitude,

Wow! I'm impressed. Love it. My husband even liked it.

Bumping this one back to the top - does anyone know if this was just normal concrete or is it a special mix? I have an area where this would work well......

Hello, Alexa.

The artist (and I don't use that term loosely!) says she used the formula provided in the FAQ section of Accoutrements. You can read about the whole process below.

If you tackle the project, please be sure to post pictures! This is some of the best work I've ever seen.

That is the most beautiful walkway I've ever seen. I saved the picture for reference. That technique would also make beautiful stepping stones.
