Please be careful. It's beautiful, but because the paperweight is a clear glass (on top) sphere, it could act as a magnifying glass and start a fire if the sun hits it directly. Just wanted to warn you before something happened.

Very pretty....like a gazing ball. Love the glass vase!

I haven't had any problems with this gazing ball with the sun shining through, I think there is not enough clear glass. Just the other day I had a clear glass ball that was in the rock garden and a small piece of wood mulch was smoking by it so one has to be careful in placing glass in the garden. I watch where I place mirrors also. Thanks for the warning though :)

if you add some dec. paint and its not totally clear would that help the fire problem we have a clear glass on top of glass totem thinking may be put that one in shade?
