It's been so hot here, my DH and I haven't been doing a lot of new projects, but I thought I would post the last one we've done. I have had shutters in my garden for a while, but could never get the right "holder" for them. So, my DH came up with a great idea! He welded a holder for them. The stars are resin, even though they look like rusty metal. Now, I can change the colors with the seasons, and maybe put other things out too.

OK WOOOOW!!! What a wonderfuly creative idea!! I love shutters and would love to have a hanger like that. Your dh did great. Is he taking orders??!!

Everytime, I tell myself, "I'm just going to peek on the board without logging in", there ends up being so much wonderful stuff that I have to comment.
I love the way your DH made your shutter hanger. Very sturdy. And such gorgeous art to be hanging! Great job.

Crap! Now I've got to go scouting for shutters! LOOOOVVE the colors, sorta Charleston/San Francisco..ish. Where'd you find the plastic stars?

Thanks for the kudos! Justjody--I found the stars in a catalog called Terry's Village. They are also on line and have great stuff and sales. Bright 99--I'm sure my DH would make you one, but how would we get it to NC??? ;-)

Wow, wish I had a shutter holder...lol..... just imagine, you can hang all kinds of things on the shutters for different seasons. Maybe some wreaths for Christmas or other holidays, some things that could slip through the slats....in my kitchen I have old enamalware ladles with candles and flowers,so maybe you could put a battery operated tea light in one for special occasions...lots of possibilities. What a great job:) I love the colors of your shutters,too!
