Best and easiest product to clean brass keys?

Ok, I know, google it, right? But I'm in a hurry. I KNOW there are some experts on the sure fired method/product for this job! Thanks for letting me pick your brains!

| Use a fine steel wire brush wheel with an electric drill. It will clean and polish at the same time really fast. dcarch |

| Yes, Brasso was our choice from hubby's army days! I've cleaned up old ,lamp brass parts, keys & tops to salt & pepper shakers among other things! I sometimes coat the item with clear spray finish so stays shiny longer, oh, did my house numbers also. Jan |

Humm, all sound feasable. Questions though: on the fine steel brush with a drill, won't it take off the top layer. I don't want the lion (master key) to be brushed down any further. Won't it damage it to a degree?...Also, with the vinegar and salt mix, what kind of vinegar? and I'm presuming a coarse salt? Iodine or sea salt? I'd like to try these first before I buy any Brasso. Thanks everyone!!!!!

| Brushing will remove a very tiny bit of the brass, not enough to do any damage. General cleaning will not polish the brass. Brushing will clean and give the brass a very shiny finish. dcarch |

| DH & I both use dcarch's method, too... it does give a very shiny finish. When I was working on this door project, I used alot of Brasso though...& everything didn't need to be very shiny on it. Good luck, Jules! Jeanne S.

| Desertrat I use plain iodine table salt and cider vinegar, put each in separate bowls, dip rag in vinegar, then salt and scrub.... |
