Alternatives to potato tires

I was going to start growing potatoes in tires, but I found out they are extremely toxic. What are some other ways to grow them like that?

Squares made of boards--about the same area size as
the tires. Plant in the bottom square, add another
square when needed, etc. Just like you added the tires.

I have planted potatoes in 2 gallon buckets. Just punch a few holes in bottom of bucket for drainage, fill with soil and plant potatoes. When ready to harvest, just dump bucket.
