| I put out my halloween plate flowers yesterday. The tall eyeballyhock is new. The others were part of a costume last year and I repaired and refurbished for this year. Set in pots of gone by flowers on my front porch and steps.

| Awesome! Dead flowers and or black flowers and leaves would be great too. |

| Really cute display. How did you string up the 'hollyhocks'? That is a great new way to use up some of my candle holders. |

My hollyhock flowers are plastic cups so I just have them taped to the bamboo stake with black "duct" tape. (its a decorative kind, not to be actually used on ducts) You can see in the pic one is falling off, I need to go fix it. Not sure how to make a glass holly hock. I like the idea tho. kathy |

Just adorable, oh, I mean really scary. Those flowers crack me up. Your killing me, because of your challenge of use what you have. I know the TS has some black plates, but I spent all weekend glueing up all my excess glass and clearing out my sunroom. I will not go to the TS, I will not go to the TS.......... Syble |

I have to say that I am not big on Halloween, but these are just too fun. I never thought of making plate flowers for such an occasion. I love it. |

Thank you. The idea came with last years plate flower obsession. I had the plastic cups and extra googlie eyes in the box with the made plates, so I kept to my use what I have challenge. Syble I can't wait to see what you've done with all your glass. I've still got a lot too. kathy |

| LOL I hope those "worms" on your plate don't eat the faux leaves! It all looks great and I love the idea of the hollyhock altho would like to make a glass one. I'm thinking maybe wire the small glass chandy shades to a rebar. Hmmm... I'll have to give that some thot and collect a few more. Thanks, Enabler Friend! ;-) |

You know, I was thinking. If you attached a tea spoon to the back of the glass votives, a la the new way for plate flowers, the handles could slide into holes made in a piece of electrical conduit, holding the votives in place, hollyhock flower-like. Not sure how you would make the holes, but there has to be a way. Oh my gosh another thing to try. There is no end! kathy |

To concretenprimroses & luckygal, An idea might be to attach the hollyhock flowers to a green fence post that has some holes drilled in them already. You can always drill more if needed. You might want to try using the GEII with a large flat head nail to the back of the hollyhocks like the flattened spoon on the back of the plate flowers. Then you can just place the nail in the hole on the post and push the post in the ground. You can buy different lengths of the fence posts and they are already green. :) |

Thanks light lady for the idea. Since the strong winds yesterday not only blew around my halloween porch junk, but blew down one of the big extension ladders my dh had leaning up to the roof of the house and it crashed down on the fence around the veggie garden, I may have some green posts to use, lol. (I see this as an opportunity to change to wooden posts, not sure what dh thinks.) kathy |

| Oh my gosh, these are great! I hadn't looked at the post all this time, because I thought, plate flowers/halloween ok orange and black plate flowers, hmmm, maybe I'll check it next time, lol, how wrong I was! I love these! I love the one with the zebra leaves stuck out like arms, the face reminds me of a venus flytrap the bugs are trying to escape but it's beconning you closer, come just a little closer.... Love the eyes in the middle of the silk flowers. Love the hollyhock! Love the way you have them grouped together in the planters with the dead flowers around them. Very original and fun! btw, in the first picture what are the (blue and white-or maybe they're purple and silver) fan shaped things on the left over by the window? |

| "eyeballyhock" That made me seriously laugh-out-loud. Love 'em, great job. |

| Thanks, I put them all away for next year on Saturday. I decided to keep the plates on the sticks this time, except the eyeballyhock I took apart cuz I need a better way to attach the little flowers. The purple and white thing is one of those twirlys made out of wooden pieces kind of in steps. Dh took it down cuz the wind got too strong. That one is particularly valuable to me because it was a wedding gift from a close friend's daughter, and this young woman died a couple of years ago in very sad circumstances. Thank you again for looking and commenting. kathy |
