My new solar light

I made this about a week ago. I was so excited when I went out onto the front porch after dark and saw the glow. The top part comes off so the solar light can be replaced when this one goes out.

Very good idea - it looks very nice. Such an improvement over the usual solar lights.

That's really pretty! I did something similar a couple weeks ago I've been trying to get the pics around to post it here. It's hard to get a good picture of them when they're lit, isn't it. How do you have everything attached? Is the glass all one pc and resting on the solar light? It looks like it's on the corner of your porch? That's a nice place to have them, close to the house. I love those little solar lights, mine is just like that. They don't give a lot of light, but look pretty when they have something to shine on. Mine was sitting way out in the yard, it gets so dark out there at night it just looked lonely, I've got to bring it closer. Yours looks so pretty in the daytime among the yellow flowers.

That's great! Such great ideas; I'm stealing that one for myself! Have the glass; just need 2 lights!

It is a great improvement over the normal solar lights. I'd be interested to know how you did it too. Is the solar light the type that needs to absorb the sunlight in the unit itself or does it have a "cell" (or whatever they are called) that is separate? I'm asking because I imagine if the unit itself absorbs the sunlight, you would need to use clear glass pieces.

Lovely! One-of-a-kind that can not be purchased at a store. That makes it an ORIGINAL.

I bought it at Walmart. I think it's the kind that absorbs sunlight. I glued all the pieces together except the top piece so it can be taken off to replace the light if necessary. It fits snugly into the piece that it's on. A pipe fits into the bottom piece for sticking into the dirt. And the solar light fits into a candle holder.

What a great use of a solar light!

Generally people just stick what they purchased in the ground, and space them apart so it looks nice. I've never seen any use like this before.

I thought this was the best use I've seen so far:
