| Hello everybody!! And welcome to all the new faces I see posting here.
My kitchen is getting done but we've been hit with an extreme spring heat wave - mid 90's - DANG! It's been HOT!! so I've been a bit slow with getting it finished. Plus, DH's DD was here for a visit.
I was also busy getting the land cleared and weeded for the summer fire season which I pray never happens again. I didn't get very far with that, though, and my garden is a weed-filled mess!
And I've also been working on the pond area in what still is NOT my Gnome Garden!! AAARRRRGGGGHHHH! I have a lot of weeds where I want to set up the gnome 'village' (have no idea what it will be yet) and now a whole bunch of poppies are flowering there. But I didn't take a pic of the poppies. (maybe tomorrow)
Just as a reminder, here is the last pic I had shown you guys back in August (gosh, time flies):

And here are the update pics of the ponds. Oh, and you can't see the water in the ponds cuz I let the floating fern thingy grow over them so that the water doesn't evaporate as quickly so they kind look like green carpets and not ponds with water in them.

And in the early evening, once it had cooled down, I was weeding just beyond the pond area and found the most adorable, teeniest frogs, two of them, that I have ever seen. His/her body couldn't have been any longer than 5/8ths of an inch. One jumped one way, and the other hopped the other way. I could only find this one after I distrurbed it. I don't know if it's one of the tadpoles that are in my ponds that grew up or not, but I had noticed much smaller tadpoles in the ponds mixed with larger ones, though I had been thinking that maybe eggs had been laid at different times. Ach, I know nothing about frogs or tadpoles, just that I love 'em!

Hope i haven't bored you with all my tawkin'! HA!
ENJOY!!

Unbelieveable, I can't believe that is the same place. You did a great job and it really took some vision. Both the tin frog and the baby frog are adorable. It is good to see some garden and yard posting, it's a little slow around here lately. I think the holidays have everybody busy and who wants to see pics of leaf covered yards. TFS Syble |

Cait, How wonderful to see your twin ponds! You sure waved your magic hands to make that happen! What a difference a season makes! :-) So, now what in the world do you have growing in the ponds? It doesn't look like water lettuce. It doesn;t look like a pond--just extensions and shapes of more green. You know it's funny-to me it seems whenever you put in your garden some fake creature (your tin frog) it invites all the others to come. You know it looks smaller but it looks like a pacific tree frog. You may have to do a little google or bing research. Happy weeding. Let me know too how those seeds work out for you (salvias--chia) Mine are still sitting over here on the computer desk. Ok, gotta get ready to go to the Getaway. Love, Jules |

| Thanks everyone. Hopefully I'll get some rain soon because I'm getting tired of having to top up the ponds and water the new planting. Jules... HAHAHAHA mine are sitting on my computer desk, too!!! I just looked at them a couple of days ago and said to myself that I must get them sown! HAHAHAHA I'm waiting for this heatwave to break, first, though. I don't do well with sowing seeds during heatwaves. Marianna - yes, I linked the ponds. There's a natural fall to the land so linking them was the obvious thing to do. |

Glad to see you and the ponds! I was just thinking of you this morning and wondering where you were, since you had not posted in awhile. Welcome back! |

| The yard is really shaping up nicely, are there fish in the ponds? They would eat a lot of mosquitoes if you have any! Cute little frog wonder if he will stay copper colored. We had green ones with black spots when I was growing up. Like your places to sit down & enjoy! Make a garden so much more inviting. Jan |

| What a difference a season makes! It looks gorgeous, just like the rest of your gardens. I see what you mean about the floating ferns, it almost looks like algae that we get on ponds around here. Great job! Keep the pictures of spring and summer coming! |
