I bought this old radio at a auction and turned it into a birdhouse! This was my 1st attempt.. I have 4 more to work on. Not sure about the shingles tho... might try cedar on the next one.

| How cool is that? Did you put a floor inside for the birds or did you leave it open? Do you have access to copper or metal flashing? That might look good as a roof too! Great idea! |

| I love the copper/metal flashing idea! Might have to try that. There is a floor in it.. and I put about 6 coats of poly on the whole thing.. hoping it should weather proof it if I decide to put it outside. We have a local online/sometimes live auction house here. They were auctioning a radio repair shop estate. I ended up with 9 radios from 4 lots. I think I can make birdhouses out of 5 of them! Im glad I put it on this forum...Thanks Jan! |
