Hopefully someone will have an answer for you...I'm not familiar with the E-6000.

I have a friend that uses E-6000 to glue rhinestones, etc, on sweat shirts. They go through the washing machine & dryer just fine. Mine has held up to that for a number of years now. Which makes me think it should work fine for totems. But that's all I know about it, and I've never tried it. Hopefully some one here will be able to give you an answer from experience. Rusty

I have used E-6000 on totems and they are all coming unglued. Guess I'll have to try the silicon.

I've used E-6000 on indoor mosaic projects. It puts off some major fumes, and the warning label is kinda scarey.

I love it for inside projects, but I've read that it won't hold up under sunlight.

I bought some on recomendation from someone on this forum for shoe repair, I think. Lots of things don't seem to hold up outside over time. I think that you should probably learn from barbara's experience. Or try it for one totem, and put it where it won't hit anything hard and break if it falls apart. And report back to us in a year or so. Another thing you could do is go to the bottom of the thread page and search E 6000 and go through posts here that mention it. I did this hoping to find a quick answer for you and didn't. there were too many. Good luck! kathy |

I used E 6000 on two totems this year and had them sitting out in sun and rain and the glue held fine for me. The only thing I had a problem with this glue holding is on a large plastic ornament. It sat out all fours seasons and some of the half marbles are coming off but it held for two years.

That's all I've ever used on my totems. Works great & have never had a problem with any of them coming apart. Be sure to glue both surfaces that you are adhering. It tells you to do that on the directions. I bet that makes a big difference. It does stink, but goes away after awhile. I live in NY & our winters are very harsh, so I obviously bring them during those months. They've held up for going on 2 yrs. now in the blazing hot sun & rain.

My experience was that it took longer to harden, with major slipping, but that was on rounded surface. I do tape w/packing tape for several days before moving the item. Fumes are horrible; use outside if warm enough.

There is an e6000 that works really well outside. my husband says it is called UV6800. And he says that E6100 is okay for outside use. They sell conveyorbelts and use these glues. Also, have you roughed up the glass with rough sandpaper before you glue? do you think that would help??? oh, he says the UV6800 is clear |
