Wow!! it's beautiful!! By using 4 plates it gives it more depth & the back 2 plates are lovely! Can't believe DH didn't like it, maybe not his colors! Some guys think flowers have to be red or pink! Jan

RE: Plate flower garden stake - Jan

Thanks Jan, I should have said what I used as it does look like 4 plates doesn't it. I actually used 2 plates and the glass one on top is a small glass candle holder, it's hard to see in the photo. I can't wait to make more of these, I've been scouring through all the plates I've collected over the years for my mosaics so some of them will end up as flowers. I love this group, I love how anything can be made into something beautiful.

Stunning flower, Tracey! Listen to your fellow Garden Junkers instead of your DH. lol I'm with you, I love seeing pictures of everyone's projects. Welcome to a wonderful group. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your creations!

Tracy, it is lovely... and I don't usually like these...but yours is really pretty.

I love it, the plate choices are lovely.... my DH would think anything I did was wonderful, lol, so I can not count on him for a honest response.....I have been dying to do these and totems ...been looking at every TS and YS I can but have not really found any thing 'perfect' yet.....have collected a good number of vases and plain filler glass but still need to find those perfect pieces before I feel ready to start.... keep up the good work, I think your vision is beautiful...

dutchy...I love the flower! The plates are just gorgeous & like how you added the 2 extra pcs for the center. So many GJers create beautiful "garden flowers" ... I love the "flowers" but have not seen a "stem" yet that is as exquisite as the flowers.

This one would look exceptional mounted on a wall, too! TFS your pics & I love seeing the backgrd flowers blooming! Wonderful! Jeanne S.

How beautiful!!! And the mosaic pieces on your link are GORGEOUS!!! LOVE THEM ALL!!! Can I come visit you?? I'm drooling all over my keyboard.....so pretty!

RE: Plate flower garden stake

haha, I told my hubby that I was told to pay no attention to him and he just laughed. He does like my stuff but he is honest and won't say he likes something if he doesn't. He always appologises when he doesn't get as excited as me but says "I like it, you've done a beautiful job but it's not my thing". Which is fair enough, most of my stuff IS pretty girly. I make a lot of shabby chic mosaics and other pretties so very pink and very girly but he still likes it lol.
Thanks for all of your support!!

Tracey, love your plate flower. Some people don't see the beauty of these. I had a wonderful time looking through some of your albums. Esp the mosaics. Love your work. I was looking a closer look at the red heart dangler that is to the left of your plate flower. wanted to see how you made it.
By the way Joshua is a cutie.

Thanks Kat! Joshua is my angel, the light and joy of my life (most of the time lol)
The red heart is a clear glass heart that my hubby cut out for me. I used clear silicon as the adhesive. First of all I used copper wire through the center and had enough overhang to make a loop from where it would be hung and added some beads. I also made a heart out of the copper wire and glued that on too. I then glued the red glass on and used glass frit in the gaps instead of grout. You can buy glass frit from art glass shops. Hope this helps!

They are great, all your work is just beautiful, you've found some beautiful glass to use. The plate flower looks so happy in the midst of your lovely flowers. Sometimes DHs just don't get things, mine didn't like my bottle tree at first. Keep up the good work and send more pics.

Just an idea for all you wonderful plate flower creators, bending pipes is very easy to do.

That's a great idea dcarch! I like it!! Did you come over last night and bend my pipe?! lol
This isn't the pipe I'm going to use, this was just a piece of curtain rod that I found in my craft room that I used to take the photo. I'd like to use copper pipe or something a little more rustic. But I do love the bent pipe idea - brilliant!!

I looked at some of your other work. I am shocked!!!!

You either have had professional training or you are a natural-born artist.

You have an extraordinary sense of color, texture and materials.

Skillful also.

RE: Plate flower garden stake

Awwwwwww dcarch, you're so sweet!!! Thanks a bunch luv!!!!!
I haven't had any training, I haven't even done any short courses, everything I've done is just from books, the internet and having a go. Shabby chic is certainly my favourite style, I think you would have noticed that lol.
Thanks again, you've made my day!!

Magnificent! I love the mosaic table. I'm so glad to see it before i do my garden table. I have some plates that I want to keep together, but your method of having some of the other rim together making arches, outstanding! All you garden art is just beautiful.
