Grass seeds blue color - mold?

I have kind of a weird curiosity question.
We had previously spread some grass seed on our lawn. Then, over the this fall/winter the lawn was covered with a tarp and a pile of dirt (side sewer project). When the dirt and tarp removed last week, the grass underneath the tarp appears to be totally dead (pale yellow). There are little bright blue grass seeds all over the area - the previously spread seed.
Why would it have turned bright blue? Fungus/mold?

It's probably mold.

Under a tarp and dirt, it's highly unlikely to be cyanobacteria, which will also be a nice blue to blue-green. With no light, however, you won't get those.

On the up side, said mold should go away by itself as the soil dries, freezes/thaws, and returns to a more natural surface cycle. You don't need to do anything special to get rid of it.
