 o
Bayer weed killer

Having had such a mild (read: nonexistent) winter this year, the weeds have begun to sprout much faster than I was prepared to deal with them, and now I need to kill them. I bought some Bayer concentrate broadleaf weed killer, and sprayed all the effected areas thoroughly. It's been almost a week, an none of the weeds show even the slightest indication of wilting, let alone being dead.

I followed the directions on the bottle, using a hose end sprayer. The active ingredients appeared to be the same chemicals/percentages as all the other brands (Ortho, Round Up, ect.), so I just bought what was on sale at the time. Shouldn't the weeds show some sign of dying by now? Does this stuff just not work? Or are all broadleaf killers simply a waste of $$$?

RE: Bayer weed killer

Is your grass growing yet? If so then fertilize now and in 2 weeks try spraying the weeds again. Try to wait until the grass is growing or else you are only fertilizing the weeds. Weeds seem to die better when well fertilized and healthy.
