Using Grits on Lawn?

Can grits be used on the lawn? According to the package it's just ground corn, but I've never seen it mentioned on the forums.

Thanks!

Grits are made from Hominy, which is corn. Yeah you can use it on a lawn, but with a protein content of about 1% makes it pretty useless as a fertilizer.
