It looks like the neighbors yard has longer grass, and it looks like you yard is some what protected from the direct force of the wind by the slope of the ground and the bush.

If the wind comes from the lower right of the picture it is directed up and cleans the rise and then "drifts" in front of the bush, and in your yard.

Same thing happens on the sea shore, dunes respond the same way as the snow. In some place the buildings and land forms cause the wind to speed up picking up the snow, in other places the same formations cause it to slow down depositing the snow.

We watched this happen in Wrightsville Beach. They built a large hotel at the end of the island. The wind hits the building and speeds up, The wind slowly caused the inlet to move up to the building, just as the wind cleans the snow from the corner of a building

Do one of you happen to use organic fertilizer?

Did one of you water farther into fall?

Does one of you water longer when you water?

We live on the east side of the street, so the wind comes directly across the street and between the houses.
Neither of us water. I mow higher, mulch, and I do use some grains in the summer. My neighbor uses the 4 step program.
