WeedOut

The last two years things did not go so well. I tried to avoid chemicals and manage dandilions manually. Instead, I've got hundreds, more like thousands that just became impossible to control. I'm going to try and use chemicals once the season starts, so I'm trying to plan ahead this time and be a bit more professional.

I'm noticing a band name being sold now in stores called "WeedOut" which is supposed to block both Lions and Crabgrass. I'm curious if anyone else is familiar with this? I am getting tired of chemicals I tried many months back that just seemed to fail to deliver what they promised.

Thanks.

For both yourself and for us, you'd do better to focus on ingredients and less on brand names. Just like cough syrups, there are hundreds of brand names but only a few ingredients that work. There is nothing magical about a brand name other than better marketing.

You'd also do well to tell folks whether you live in Florida or Alaska, and what you know about what kind of grass you have - that stuff matters when selecting a weed killer...

I believe the truth is you don't need any chemicals at all if you are managing your watering and mowing right.

Where do you live?
What kind of grass do you have?
How high/low do you mow it?
What is your watering regimen? (frequency and duration)

I have two lawns with no weeds and no chemicals. Every now and then I will see a blade or two of nutgrass but it goes away. Dandelions went away years ago.
