I am trying to plan ahead for this fall and want to overseed my Bermuda lawn for green color in winter. I am in the okc, ok area and have tried perrineal ryegrass but it has had too much heat tolerance and killed off Bermuda in some areas. I am thinking about trying fine fescue. What do u think? Will this have less heat tolerance than the rye? I want it to die off more easily in the late spring/summer.

I think it is a mistake to overseed but it's your lawn. Look for annual ryegrass, not perennial.

If this is something you want to do it would be best to kill off the rye in the spring by using a product like Revolver. It is hard to find and will cost about $200+ but will last a number of years.

Kerb or Monument would also be good choice to kill off the rye.
