[IMG]http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l164/no2lurch/100_1356.jpg [IMG]http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l164/no2lurch/100_1357.jpg [IMG]http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l164/no2lurch/100_1355.jpg [IMG]http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l164/no2lurch/100_1358.jpg [IMG]http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l164/no2lurch/100_1359.jpg real close up, the lawn is covered with this stuff... [IMG]http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l164/no2lurch/100_1361.jpg [IMG]http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l164/no2lurch/100_1360.jpg now i would like to know whats the best thing to do - its it best to kill it all off and start again with seed? returfing is not really a favourable option as i need the lawn at the level that it is at now and dont want to take the top inch or so off. i also need a fairly quick solution as we have kids in the family who wioll want to play on it. there are some srigs of grass among the weeds and other growth. the lawn is part shade, depending on the time of day. thanks in advance. |

| The only quick solution is to rent a sod cutter, cut out the top inch or two of what you have, and lay new sod. If you do go this route, I recommend TTTF/KBG sod since you have partial shade. You will still have to take it easy on the sod for about a month. Growing a lawn from seed requires staying off it for at least 6 weeks, 8 would be better. Not sure of your location, but reseeding a cool season lawn is best done in late summer/early fall, depending on the location. |
