dethatcher

I bought this house in NW AR and I know that the lawn has never been dethatch which is about 10 years so I thought for $130 I could buy an electric dethatcher at amazon and dethatch my lawn because it has a lot of build up because it's burmunda grass. I've never done this so any advice would be welcome.

I bought that dethatcher off amazon too and did it to my lawn. I took out a few of the metal prongs before doing it since I have saint augustine grass. It worked great and I pulled up a ton of dead grass. It's pretty easy and just don't stop and keep up a steady pace. You can check youtube also for other people that have done it.
