| i seeded my lawn 3 springs ago, everything went well and by fall i had very decent lawn and by next summer lawn that i was really happy with. this is the fourth spring and suddenly my lawn is full of dandelions. not few, tons of them. never had to deal with them before, i had one here and there but not to this extent. i did some research and tried weed hound (waste of money, it only grabs part of the root and in next few days i had new dandelion growing from the hole. ) i have been using sarrated knife to cut around the root ant pull it but with the amount of dandelions it is insane. i started organic two years ago but i am about ready to get some sort of selective herbicide to deal with them. any idea how else i could fight them effectively? if herbicide is the way to go what type? my dad has been telling me that weed be gone doesnt work, but i think there are different kinds of weed b gone, but guys in hd are not very helpful with selection.
i live in denver co, have kbg and follow all the rules of watering deeply and infrequently, mowing high and mulch mowing. i use soybean meal or alfalfa pellets as fertilizer thanks |

| friend told me to get a syringe and inject little roundup directly into the center of the plant. considering the small amount of round up is this going to affect the grass around? should i rather inject selective herbicide? again with amount of dandelions this is going to be crazy but not as bed as having to dig them all up. |

| If you dont mind buying a couple bags of topsoil to fill holes, this works pretty well...gets the whole root. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Weed Puller

| i do have weed hound, similar device to weed puller, but id doesnt work for me. the claws are just too short to get the whole root. |

| Weed B Gone Max should get rid of those dandelions. Instead of spraying the root stub, you should remove the flowering part, and spray the leaves at the base. Most herbicides are absorbed via the leaves, and will not work otherwise. I would used a tank sprayer, and apply a good squirt to each dandelion base in your yard. It's usually easier after you mow and can use the lines in your yard to keep track of which ones you have sprayed. |
