I bought a house last September and my lawn turned ugly ugly brown -- what was green turned depressing in Fall and still brown @ April 11. I have come to find out I have Zoysia grass and have been looking at ways to rid myself of this horribly ugly grass. I hear about the weed/water benefits but its not worth it to have a sad ugly lawn 6 months out of the year.

1. I want to be environmentally friendly as possible -- not use roundup in multi applications as I have read before.
2. Can I scrape up all the grass (a few inches) and then sod the lawn? Some people think that the Zoysia will still come back.

This is a great forum and I really appreciate anyone that can help me get rid of this stuff!!!
