Starter Fertilizer for Celebration Bermuda

Posted by bayloraugustiner DFW, TX (My Page) on

New to the forum and to lawn care. Just had Celebration Bermuda installed, and the landscapers who installed it did not do a starter fertilizer. I was thinking of adding one. The Celebration Bermuda best practices document only mentions using one that is "low in nitrogen and higher in phosphorus and potassium." My local shop sells a starter fertilizer that is 9-13-7. Would this be a good way to go? Is it too late (install was on Wed.) to use one? Is this too much nitrogen?

Thanks,

TW

RE: Starter Fertilizer for Celebration Bermuda

Well first there is nothing special about Celebration Bermuda fertilizer requirements. For a starter fertilizer if that is what you want to use use then any 1-1-1 or 2-1-2 ratio. You can find 10-10-10, and 20-10-20 in any garden or farm store around.
