| Can someone please help me by letting me know what type of grass this is. I have just about two acres of grass in Hopkinton, RI and I usually put down the Scotts Step1-4 each year. About a bag and a half of each step. This year I have dethatched, aerated and put down Scotts Step One yesterday. I am trying to get a beautiful looking lush lawn. I have lived at my house for just about 4 years. The yard is about 11 years old. Any advice anyone can give me would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

| Looks like Fine Fescue to me. Do not over fertilize this grass or it will decline. You might have some Kentucky Bluegrass in there as well, but dificult to see in a that picture. Mow the lawn no higher than 3 inches and don't bag the clipping. Do not use Scotts crabgrass pre-emergent, get Lesco or almost any thing else with Dithiopyr (Dimension) the rest of the step program should be fine if applied correctly. Always measure the lawn area to be treated and get a soil sample to see the pH is in your soil.
