To early to seed?

So I'm in the Twin Cities and was wondering if it's to early to seed? My front lawn is extremely patchy...I've been trying for years to get it to be a nice thick lawn to no avail. One side is extremely shady (under a big maple) and that's one reason. I bought a dense shade mix hoping this does the trick on that side. For the rest I bought KBG mix and plan on overseeding that side to get it nice and thick.

ANYways is it to early? Right now we're getting into the upper 60's but the forcast still says we'll be dipping down to 32 degrees a couple of nights. Will this kill the seeds? Should I wait a while longer?

Grass seed germination is an inexact science. Cool season grasses germinate when air temperature lows are above 60 degrees and highs are below 85 degrees. Other sources will recommend that soil temperatures should be between 60 and 70 degrees.
Just my opinion, but taking all factors into account, any seeding of cool season grasses before late summer or early fall is too early.
