I try to limit my comments to KBG and northern climates when it comes to grasses, but everything I've read and personal experience indicates newly sown grasses should get extra N for the first 2 years. Recommended normal rate for fescue is 3# N/year. I'd think an N application now and then your normal late Spring/early summer would be wise. Followed with the ussual late fall then the winerizer would be about 4# total N for the year (+1#N above normal recommended rates).

After I posted I decide that while chronologically it is late spring, temperature wise it is quite early spring and will be putting Nitrogen on the yard this afternoon.
