Too late to apply pre-emergence (CGM)?

Hi, folks. Here in Round Rock, TX it's been really warm for several weeks now. I am wondering if it is too late to apply corn gluten meal for pre-emergent weed control. I don't have many weeds in my lawn--almost none in my front lawn due to hand-pulling--but I am starting to see weed shoots popping up all over the place.

Way too late. Remember when it first rained back in February and the temps were warm? That was the time. Soil temps never really dropped off this winter so the first rain storm was the time to apply.

Way way to late. CGM is a very expensive decent fertilizer but completely worthless as a herbicide.

I didn't notice it was CGM. I agree with TW on that. I used 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet 8 times last season and never noticed a difference in weeds. I mean, how much do you have to use to get the effect? I was doing it to fertilize anyway. It is the best organic fertilizer I know of.

Cool, I'll remember it for fertilization purposes then and go with some kind of other weed killer next season. Hand pulling, here I come!
