Help wild strawberries have taken over my lawn!

How can I get rid of these plants? My lawn is gone I have lots of shade and dogs. So what can I use to get rid of them and what type of grass can I plant that would be sturdy with the dogs? They are not out there all day just for potty breaks and play. I've thought maybe a good sturdy ground cover, should be the route I go. The yard is not big and it is shaded by a large maple tree which we trimmed last year to thin it out. My yard looks awful...

Unless you build a kennel, I doubt anything will work...

The thick areas of my lawn choke this out.

Where are you located and roughly how much sun does the yard get. I might have a solution for you.
