I think the combination of prolonged snow cover this year in Ohio and a late blast of high nitrogen fertilizer around Thanksgiving has resulted in a bad case of snow mold. I'm getting ready to put down pre-emergent for crab grass. Based on these photos, I've got two questions. First, is this indeed snow mold. Second, I've heard in mild cases the roots aren't damaged and the grass will regrow soon. Do you think my condition will require reseeding and this maybe skip pre-emergent application and prepare to seed?
