Hello,

I've got a "native landscape" here in Lake Tahoe (dirt, pine needles, some native grasses and flowers). My wife is clamoring for grass to keep the dust/dirt down. I'm not a fan of grass and the upkeep/chemicals/water that go along with. I'd like to use a grass alternative (one of the stepables, or other), but I don't know if anything will survive the winters here AND the constant trampeling of my dogs.

I'm in sunset zone 1a, plenty of sun, drought conditions often.

Your suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated!
