Too much groundwater? What to do?

Yesterday a neighbor told me that the water utility company came by and had to use a bucket to remove water that had seeped into the water meter box/manhole at the edge of my property. They tested the water for chlorine (tested negative). So they concluded it was groundwater. So my question is whether I should be concerned about this groundwater? And if so, what can I do about it?
