Bermuda Fertilizer question

Only good slow release fertilizer I can find is a Howard Johnson 38-0-0. On the bag it has:

38% Urea Nitrogen
*19% Nitrogen stable w/dicyandiamide & N-(n-butyl)thiophosphoric triamide
Chlorine, not more than 6%

Does this mean it is 50% slow release and 50% fast release? Also should I apply 1lb of nitrogen per 1k sq feet like is normally recommended? On this bag it says apply 1.5 per 1k sq feet.

Beats me but it sounds like the soup recipe they served in their restaurant 30 years ago on Route 66 between Tulsa and Chicago.

Yes, that is a 50% slow release fertilizer.

Wonder why the bag rate is less? Maybe to reduce an explosion of growth from the fast release component?

so how much should i apply?

RE: Bermuda Fertilizer question

Real easy take the first number which is nitrogen and divide it into 100 to find how many pounds of product to use per 1000 square feet. 100/38 = 2.6 lbs/Kf2

Yeah i got that but im wondering if i should apply 1 pound of nitrogen per 1k feet or 1.5. So should i apply 2.6 lbs or 3.9 lbs per 1k?

RE: Bermuda Fertilizer question

Why would you want to over fertilize with 1.5 pounds?

 o
RE: Bermuda Fertilizer question

Because thats the recommended rate on the bag. Thats why i was asking.
